Filters are a feature on Bumble For Friends that helps you curate the members in your People tab.
The filters for who you’re interested in connecting with, age, and (in many regions) distance are chosen when you create your account and can be changed at any time. Once you’ve indicated those initial preferences, you have the option to set additional Advanced Filters.
Advanced Filters are part of Premium, and subscribers can choose an unlimited number of Advanced Filters. It’s important to note that you can only select a filter if you’ve self-identified in that category (e.g. if you haven’t indicated your personal stance on smoking, you can't filter for non-smokers).
To set up Advanced Filters:
1. Head into your People tab and tap on the icon located in the top right-hand corner
2. Scroll down to ‘Filters’ and tap ‘Set advanced filters.’
3. From there, you can choose the filters you’re interested in applying
Remember: The more filters you apply, the limited the number of members you'll see in your People tab and Liked You. If things seem a little quiet, try toggling your filters to allow more folks to appear for you to connect with.
Are you finding that members appear in your queue outside the filters you’ve set? This is likely because we’ve introduced a feature to automatically relax your set of filters to give you the ability to see members who are just outside your preferences. Find out more here.
