If you use your phone number to log into your Bumble For Friends account, it’s essential that you add a secondary login method (either Facebook or Apple ID). This is to make sure your data stays private if your number changes and to help you regain access to your account quickly if your phone is lost, stolen, or broken—or for any other reason you lose access to your text messages.
If your phone number has changed, updating it within the app as soon as possible is important. Phone companies frequently recycle unused phone numbers, and if your old number is assigned to someone new, they could access your data.
By adding a secondary login method, you’ll be able to log in even if your phone number has changed. If you have a new number, select the secondary login method when signing in, and you’ll be able to access your account.
As soon as you're logged in on the app, follow these steps to update your phone number:
1. Tap on the gray silhouette on the bottom left and then go to Settings (the grey gear icon in the top right corner)
2. Scroll down and tap on "Security & Privacy"
3. Tap on “Login methods”
4. Remove your old phone number and then add your new one.
If your phone number has changed and you didn’t add a secondary login method, you will not be able to log in, and unfortunately, Bumble For Friends can't help you regain access to your account. If you're in this position, please contact us here to request for your account to be deleted. Choose the "request my data" option, fill in the relevant information, and specify that you want your account deleted. This process will require our team to verify your identity to confirm you are the account owner and have a right to make such a request.
